MasterSeal 910 is fixed on to the concrete face of the construction joint prior to subsequent concrete being placed against it. Movements along the joint caused by shrinkage or structural movement are accommodated by the water activated swelleable profile of the MasterSeal 910 waterbar.
MasterSeal 910 is based on a newly developed polymer technology providing a chemically resistant flexible composite capable of storing water within its molecular structure thereby increasing its own volume, swelling. The swelling of the gasket, which depending on the type of water it is immersed in can be up 200% of its original volume. This extreme swelling causes it to exert pressure on either side of the joint blocking any water passage through the joint.
MasterSeal 910 is designed to replace conventional difficult to cast in extruded PVC and Rubber âtortuous pathâ waterstops, but only in construction joints where limited movement is expected.
MasterSeal 910 is frequently used in the following structures:
- Water reservoirs / tanks
- Canals
- Dams
- Sewage treatment plants
- Basements
MasterSeal 910 offers numerous advantages:
- Eliminates costly design, welding and installation of waterbar.
- The installed system assures a watertight structure.
- Fast easy installation procedures.
- Proven and predictable performance.
- Completely maintenance free.
- Possible to retro-fit when new construction is built against existing structures.
